Becoming A Pioneers Of Aesthetics Through Plastic Waste
Plastic waste is a type of waste that is difficult to decompose. Especially plastic bags, many are found scattered around residential areas. In fact, plastic bags can break down over the next decades. As the data quoted from suaramuslim.net, that a plastic bag takes 20 years to break down. Likewise, the types of plastic waste such as: straws, mineral bottles, and food wrappers, can only decompose after hundreds of years later. Just imagine if the waste continues to crowd residential areas. So, in a long time it will cause various diseases. In addition, if there is heavy rain, the garbage that has accumulated will be carried away into the trenches. If this happens, it will cause various diseases such as: dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), diarrhea, typhus, and asthma. In addition, the foul smell of plastic waste mixed with other dirt in the ditch, will cause a very strong odor and surely disturb the activities of local residents.
So
it is undeniable that Indonesia is very often hit by floods. This is because
the facts on the ground prove that Indonesia is in the second rank as the
largest plastic waste producer in the world. Surely, plastic production will
continue to increase every year. We can see this through the density of people's economic activities which are always related to plastics. In particular, urban people are familiar with the use of plastic. Thus, the level of plastic waste pollution in the city is felt to be increasing faster than the level of plastic waste pollution in rural areas.
The benefits of plastic are so many, even touching almost all human activities. Starting from production activities, distribution, to consumption activities. So, to minimize plastic waste pollution and its various bad effects, effective steps are needed to tackle the accumulation of plastic waste. Surely it is not easy to change the habit of using plastic in various activities, because it is mushrooming in everyday life. Through this article, we invite generations to become aesthetic pioneers through processing plastic waste. Plastic waste has a high economic value if we turn it into a work. Surely, this plastic waste treatment must pay attention to the cleanliness of the surrounding environment. In Central Cimahi, on the roadside, there are lots of plastic waste in the form of straws, plastic bags and drinking water bottles. Starting from this condition, we invite friends to become creative souls, by not immediately throwing away the wastes but collecting them and then processing them into a work.
Become a Pioneers of Aesthetics
Unlike the packaging bottles that are processed into flower pots, it will provide very high economic value if we try to distribute them to several collectors of recycled works. especially if this field is pursued, it will certainly make us one of the aesthetic pioneers who not only reap the coffers of money, but also save the universe. let's manage plastic waste in the form of bottled drinking bottles into beautiful flower pots.
The tools and materials needed are:
- Plastic bottles of any sizes,
- Scissors,
- Colored paint,
- Brushed,
- Used tapes,
- Hot glue, and
- Growing media
Steps:
- Wash the used bottles that will be used first.
- Make a circle pattern on the top and bottom of the bottle using a marker on the part to be cut.
- Cut neatly the bottom of the circle that has been circled with scissors or a cutter. So now all that's left is the top of the bottle.
- Don't forget to cut the two circle pattern that was made earlier. Because the part that has been given a circle will be a hook ring for frills.
- Make decorations around the bottle, with the same length. When you're done, put the ring in the bottle and tuck all the frills inside the ring. When finished tucking, trim and close the bottle with two holes. To make a hole you can use a nail, or a plastic bottle hole tool.
- Glue the tape (CD). Namely, precisely on the edge of the hole in the middle. Then put the plastic pot that was made earlier on it.
- Give the color according to our wishes. Staining can use the spray technique, or with a brush.
- Once done, the final step is to pour the soil and fertilizer into the pots and then start planting various ornamental plants such as roses, jasmine, cactus, or orchids.
Dare to get started, that's a pioneer
How about friends? Are you interested in trying? Surely there is nothing wrong with implementing this recycle concept at home while filling your spare time. so that we will get used to respecting the environment by treating plastic waste and making it a source of livelihood. A pioneer will not be afraid to try even if he has to experience failure first. we can because we are used to it, then start getting used to reprocessing plastic waste that is around you.
As we all know, Indonesia always experiences population growth. then the existing natural wealth must be passed on to the next generation. Do not let indifference inhabit you. Too often Mother Earth cries to endure the wounds caused by disasters that never stop. from the first, Mother Earth wants us to return to preserving it. We are all vanguards, because we are all equipped with organs that are so perfect to look after one another.
To be a good pioneer, we must be able to build and pioneer something until it is successful in making it happen. As it is today, Indonesia's position is still one of the largest contributors to plastic waste. This is a challenge with high complexity and must be faced, because all groups without exception must find solutions so that Indonesia is free from plastic waste.
Come on! take care of nature as nature keeps people in the shade through wood that can be used as buildings, to forests which also reduce air pollution in cities. Isn't looking after each other a beautiful thing? Keep it until God has the right to take it back. Together being a pioneer of aesthetics through plastic waste, we have taken a step further in realizing a plastic waste-free Indonesia. Indonesia! Move change.
To be a pioneer of aesthetics
